TY - JOUR PY - 1997// TI - Systematic Replication of an Intervention Designed to Increase Attendance at Nutrition Sites for the Elderly JO - Activities, adaptation and aging A1 - Gallegos, Thomas G. A1 - Mathews, R. Mark SP - 13 EP - 20 VL - 21 IS - 4 N2 - Nutritional and social well-being are important factors in the health and independence of older persons. In previous research, Bunck and Iwata (1978) effectively increased attendance at a nutrition site serving the elderly using a combination of prompting and reinforcement procedures. This study provides a systematic replication of their intervention procedures at two senior meal sites. Findings from this study, however, resulted in no increase in attendance. Thus, further applied research is still needed to identify effective methods for increasing attendance in community-based nutrition and health promotion programs.
