TY - JOUR PY - 2008// TI - Incivility and bullying in the workplace and nurses' shame responses JO - Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing A1 - Felblinger, Dianne M. SP - 234 EP - 241 VL - 37 IS - 2 N2 - Incivility and bullying in the workplace are intimidating forces that result in shame responses and threaten the well-being of nurses. Some nurses are accustomed to tolerating behaviors that are outside the realm of considerate conduct and are unaware that they are doing so. These behaviors affect the organizational climate, and their negative effects multiply if left unchecked. Interventions for incivility and bullying behaviors are needed at both individual and administrative levels.
