N2  - Domestic violence has serious consequences, which often result in long-term damage to an individual's health, well being and development. Health care providers are ideally placed to detect people who have experienced domestic abuse, as almost everyone accesses the health service at some point in their lifetime. Nursing and midwifery tutors have a pivotal role in educating health care professionals on the subject of domestic abuse.
