TY - JOUR PY - 2006// TI - Familial violence socialization in childhood and later life approval of corporal punishment: a cross-cultural perspective JO - American journal of orthopsychiatry A1 - Douglas, Emily M. SP - 23 EP - 30 VL - 76 IS - 1 N2 - The use of corporal punishment has been associated with several negative outcomes for children. As a result, scholars have begun to study factors that are associated with the approval of corporal punishment. Using data from the International Dating Violence Study, the author implemented analysis of covariance and multilevel modeling analyses to determine that there were significant associations among culture, personal and group experiences of familial violence socialization, and attitudes about corporal punishment.
