SP - 676 EP - 679 VL - 14 IS - 3 N2 - OBJECTIVE: To know the use of security measures in motor vehicles for under-6 children, in the town of Cervera (Lleida, Spain). DESIGN: Study based on observation, transverse, through a public-opinion poll, to a representative sample of young children (0 to 6). LOCATION: Primary health care. PARTICIPANTS: 251 children from 0 to 6 years old, from a whole of 504, through the method of simple fortuitous sampling, from whom, 185 answered. INTERVENTION: Interview with the parents. MEASURING AND RESULTS: It was used a Data base and the results were analysed through a statistical technics, in a PC computer (IBM). CONCLUSIONS: There is a frequent use of the motor vehicles from very tender years: 61.9% of children do not use any security measures when they travel, and from children that use them, there is a 46.9% that use the child safety seats, in a bad way.
