N2  - One of the major problems in assessing drug law enforcement initiatives has been the lack of reliable statistics. This report describes the use and abuse of existing statistics, and their practical implications for drug law enforcement. Key issues are the types of drug law offences for which people are arrested; the illegal drugs involved in arrests; drug seizures; and deaths due to illegal drug use.<p />
