N2  - In order to regulate the traffic of firearms at an international level, it is necessary to begin by regulating it at both a regional and national level. This paper highlights international strategies aimed at curbing the proliferation of firearms into Australia. It also examines Australian government initiatives introduced to reduce the number of, and access to, illegal firearms in the community, and consequently to reduce firearm related violence.<p />
