As legislation and enforcement practices vary significantly across these jurisdictions, direct comparisons are not possible. Ogilvie outlines specific considerations that need to be taken into account with respect to both criminal justice system interventions and future research priorities, including: addressing weaknesses in the legislation; provision of training for police units; the necessity of sustained intervention; devising effective research agendas; and investigating community awareness.<p />
