N2  - 18 percent of the injured persons in our investigation had an alcohol concentration exceeding 0.05 per cent, which is in accordance with referred studies. The higher the BAC the more serious the injury, which also is in accordance with earlier findings. The frequency of detected drug use in our population was seven percent totally and four percent regarding hazardous drugs. These figures do not exceed the calculated use in the whole country. In only one case was the therapeutic level exceeded (digoxin). Younger participants in traffic use fewer drugs than older traffic participants. The older drug users more often sustained more serious injuries than the younger ones. Drugs seem to be a very small risk factor in traffic. In our investigation no connection between drug use and alcohol use could be shown.<p />
