N2  - This is the second of two articles on the prevention of childhood injuries. Here, interventions to reduce death and disability among children from recreational injuries are identified. The major categories of recreational injury are listed, the magnitude of the problem defined, the risk factors described, and selected interventions of the National Committee for Injury Prevention and Control summarized. Recommendations for practice are discussed.
