N2 - This article describes the results of testing sessions designed to obtain information about the relationships between motor vehicles and in-line skaters. The increasing number of in-line skaters on roadways, which are also occupied by motor vehicles and pedestrians, makes it likely that collisions will occur. For planning purposes it would be helpful to have meaningful data on the interactions between the vehicles and the skaters. The testing was undertaken in four different areas, including a skater's lateral space requirement, deceleration, acceleration and average speed by skaters.<p />
