TY - JOUR PY - 2007// TI - Sidewalk Repair Program in Orange County JO - APWA reporter A1 - Budhu, Deodat A1 - Bedoya, Alexandra SP - 60 EP - 61 VL - 74 IS - 7 N2 - In this article the authors describe a sidewalk repair program that has been implemented in Orange County, Florida. The program has been in place in that county since 2000 with 1,947,952 square feet of sidewalk from outside contractors and 700,264 square feet from in-house constructors being repaired. The local government has spent a total of $1.5 million per year on it since that time. The Roads and Drainage Division has, since the program’s inception, begun to implement Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies to keep track of the repairs. These maps provide detailed data about the repairs, and each data point recorded is herein described. These are factors such as damage type, replacement type, street name and location, materials used, and crack width, among a many other points. Operators have found these maps very useful in tracking this sidewalk repair information.
