SP - 73 EP - 79 VL - 2002 IS - N2 - This paper compares the relationship between two factors that are known to affect the relative risk of involvement in a casualty crash: a driver's blood alcohol level and his or her choice of free travelling speed. It is concluded that measures which reduce travelling speeds are likely to be at least as effective in reducing the frequency of casualty crashes in Adelaide as measures which reduce drivers' blood alcohol levels.
