TY - JOUR PY - 1976// TI - Child traffic accidents - epidemiological and biomechanical aspects JO - Proceedings of the International Research Council on the Biomechanics of Injury conference A1 - Wallin, J. SP - 216 EP - 224 VL - 4 IS - N2 - From hospital files data were selected of all children aged 0-14 years, who as pedestrians or bicyclists suffered A collision with a motor vehicle during 1974. The 124 cases consist of 82 boys and 42 girls, 65 bicyclists and 59 pedestrians. It is concluded that bicyclists are heavily represented in the highest severity group, that the bicyclist on average were 10.1 years old as against the average age of the pedestrians of 6.7 years, and that the 9-11 years olds have the greatest frequency of injury.
