Recent advances in our knowledge of the causes of hip fracture are providing new and effective approaches to the prevention of this disabling condition. Because hip fracture is a leading cause of disability, significant efforts have been directed to the development of strategies for the more effective rehabilitation and treatment of the fracture patient.
