N2  - A large number of suicides (20%) which occur in Ireland are amongst the agricultural sector. Statistical records were examined and suicide fatalities amongst the agricultural sector identified and collated. Significant differences (X2, p=0.01) were found between the marital status, methods employed and age profiles of both men and women involved within the agricultural sector as compared with suicides as a whole over the same time period. Such information may be relevant to future suicide prevention strategies.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
