TY - JOUR PY - 2009// TI - Hypnosis for complex trauma survivors: four case studies JO - American journal of clinical hypnosis A1 - Poon, Maggie Wai-ling SP - 263 EP - 271 VL - 51 IS - 3 N2 - This report described a phased-oriented treatment of complex trauma in four Chinese women. Two women were survivors of childhood sexual abuse, one was a rape victim, and the other was a battered spouse. A phased-oriented treatment that tailored to the needs of the clients was used. The treatment framework consisted of three phases: stabilization, trauma processing, and integration. Hypnotic techniques had been used in these phases as means for grounding and stabilization, for accessing the traumatic memories, and for consolidating the gains. Data from self-reports, observation and objective measures indicates a significant reduction in the trauma symptoms after treatment.
