TY - JOUR PY - 2001// TI - Guilt and aggression in children after the death of a relative JO - Archives de Pediatrie A1 - Hayez, J. Y. SP - 1239 EP - 1245 VL - 8 IS - 11 N2 - Children may feel guilty about the death of a close relative. The reasons are analyzed: in most cases guilty feelings remain unjustified. Consequent changes in the child's behavior are described, including aggressivity, depressive symptoms and regression. A preventive comprehensive attitude of the surviving family circle will help children to overcome these feelings.
