The risks faced in the current world pose threats for which the occupational health nurse may not be prepared. These threats go beyond any unexpected workplace emergency. It is critical for all occupational health professionals to understand the implications of these modern threats and the proper response procedures, including the limits of a safe and prudent response. This knowledge will prevent further fatalities.
