Orthopaedic professionals can provide assistance to victims of domestic violence by developing an office-based plan for assessment and intervention. Providing reassurance and support, helping develop a safety plan, and referring the patient to appropriate agencies are possible within the time constraints of a busy practice. This article outlines an approach to developing such a plan.
