Domestic violence was characterized by severity, the length of violence, the early establishment of the relationship and the high frequency of abuse. The percentage of Mexican and immigrant women who were victims of sexual violence is higher. Spanish women showed higher social support and also had a bigger economical dependency towards the aggressor.
