N2  - Despite their ubiquity in primary care, psychological disorders often are overlooked as cues to heightened risk for metabolic syndrome (MetS), potentially leading to the suboptimal management of patients with these comorbid conditions. Accordingly, this review discusses psychological dysfunction as an under-appreciated MetS hazard and the strategic implications for cardiometabolic risk reduction in primary care.<p />
