N2  - This study evaluates the effectiveness of a Community Arts mentoring program with adolescents whose lives have been touched by violence. Using projective and self-reporting pre- and post-measures, and a final semi-structured interview, it seeks to understand how exposure to violence shapes the narratives that 10 rural adolescents created about themselves and their world, and whether participation in the program changed these narratives and their sense of connection to the larger community. This study looks at whether the participants perceived the program as helpful. A model for an arts mentoring program for adolescents exposed to violence is offered.<p />
