N2  - The knowledge of accident rates in the country provides a useful tool for a comprehensive analysis of their causes as well as for their prevention.  Smeed devised a formula that estimates the road traffic fatality is the country by using the population and the number of registered vehicles of a particular country.  This paper shows that Smeed's formula leads to a remarkably low estimation of traffic fatalities in Saudi Arabia. A much more realistic formula for estimating road traffic fatalities in Saudi Arabia is given.<p />
