TY - JOUR PY - 2006// TI - Neo-liberalism and the pathologising of public issues: The displacement of feminist service models in domestic violence support services. Comment JO - Australian social work A1 - Tyler, Malcolm SP - 99 EP - 100 VL - 59 IS - 1 N2 - Comments on the article "Neo-liberalism and the Pathologising of Public Issues: The displacement of feminist service models in domestic violence support services" by J. McDonald (2005). The present author maintains that he understands the original author's concern regarding the extension of bureaucratic control over domestic violence and sexual assault services, but that he does not subscribe to the belief that the feminist service delivery models previously operating were perfect and providing an optimum outcome for clients. The comment further asserts that the intervention of government agencies for all its flaws, has ideally led to better and more consistent service delivery and more transparent practices and better staff training.
