N2  - To clarify characteristics of the hot rodders' clan or bosozoku, it is necessary to focus not just on the bosozoku alone but on other youth who inconspicuously comprise the bulk of the generation as well and understand the bosozoku in comparison wiith the rest. The project team conducted a questionnaire survey on bosozoku and comparative groups of high school students in the same age range concerning background factors and access to vehicles. this report will try to clarify differences and similarities between high school students and bosozoku in terms of their interests and inclinations for vehicles, friendly relations, behaviors and personality traits, and, at the same time, provide various data that might help cast some light on the future of motorized society.<p />
