N2  - Inhalation injury has an imminent impact on the morbidity and mortality of burn patients. Accuracy in diagnosis could be improved by fibre-optic bronchoscopy and arterial carbon monoxide oximetry. The heterogeneous components of inhaled smoke produce abnormalities of ventilation and lung perfusion. The objective of the management is to maintain sufficient oxygenation of the organism during the period of respiratory failure; there is no specific therapy.
