SP - 61 EP - 63 VL - IS - 3 N2 - Esophagogastroduodenoscopy was carried out with diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in patients with acute poisonings with noncaustic chemicals during the acute period. Diagnostic endoscopy was performed in 142 patients. Gastrointestinal hemorrhages were detected in 96 (67.6%) cases. In 31 patients endoscopic intervention was performed to arrest gastrointestinal bleeding and prevent its recurrence. In 305 patients a tube for intestinal lavage was introduced in the small intestine with an endoscope by various methods.
