They range from very serious and even, occasionally, fatal accidents, to trivial sprains and bruises. Sports medicine is a burgeoning field. Parallel with this there has been an increased understanding of the radiology of these lesions. Lesions in the immature skeleton differ greatly to those in the mature skeleton. This review describes the most frequent sports injuries in children.
