N2  - The purpose of this study was to investigate suicidal adolescents' perceptions of helpful experiences in psychotherapy. During the initial data-gathering stage, 17 previously suicidal adolescents (3 male, 14 female) were interviewed to generate descriptive statements of what they found helpful in their therapy experience. In the second phase a pool of 20 participants (5 male, 15 female) were recruited to perform sorting and rating tasks to generate a concept map. The findings suggest that participants found 5 aspects of therapy to be helpful: Enhanced Self-Understanding, Communication, Creative Expression, Therapeutic Relationship, and Therapeutic Strategies.<p />
