N2  - A Research Programme has been carried out to investigate aetiology, management and rehabilitation and to study the role of the socio-economic factors of burn injuries in children. Results obtained are found to be due to over-crowding in poor housing conditions, lack of proper medical facilities and ignorance.  Since May 1971, the Department of Paediatric Surgery of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi was involved in finding out the causes of burn injuries in children in Karachi, and the various factors which were responsible for these accidents.<p />
