TY - JOUR PY - 2002// TI - A current perspective of suicide and attempted suicide JO - Annals of internal medicine A1 - Mann, J. John SP - 302 EP - 311 VL - 136 IS - 4 N2 - Suicide and suicide attempts are a major cause of death and morbidity worldwide. This review includes a hypothesized stress-diathesis model, which has implications for detection of high-risk patients and treatment interventions, and discusses promising treatment approaches that have been recently identified.
