N2  - The safety assessment of hot bridgewire electro-explosive devices (EEDs) based on a physical model is studied. The model is judged to be credible when the EED production process is under statistical control. A separate safety analysis of the production process is recommended. Under the suggested model some ideas on the experimental design and the evaluation of safety experiments are given.<p />
