N2  - During the last ten years different generalizations of the total time on test (TTT) concept have been defined and studied. Among these are a certain functional of the survival function, called the TTT-transform, and an empirical counterpart, called the TTT-plot. These concepts have proved to be very useful tools in many different applications in reliability. The purpose of this expository paper is to mention some of these applications.<p />
