N2  - Ascertained whether an individual's graded completion test achievement could be considered as indicative of general mental ability; and developed a practical, graded series which could be completed in 15 or 20 mins. The material consisted of 56 mutilated sentences, as presented by Traube. The test was given to 256 delinquent girls, ranging from 13 to 18 yrs of age. From the obtained correlations, it was concluded that an individual's grade completion test achievement was to some extent, indicative of his general mental ability. To make the series shorter, the sentences were studied and the percentage of correctly completed sentences was determined. On the basis of this, a shorter series was made, consisting of 20 sentences.
