TY - JOUR PY - 2002// TI - Drug addiction among young students aged 15-21 JO - Wiadomosci Lekarskie A1 - Waszkiewicz, LudmiĆa A1 - Bolanowski, Wojciech SP - 560 EP - 564 VL - 55 IS - Suppl 1 N2 - The survey was done to compare two groups of young people (aged 15-21) studying in Wroclaw and Olesnica: 60 students who declare to have drugs and 58 students who declare themselves as never having had contact with drugs. Reasons for drug taking were investigated. Social origin, education and financial sources of parents, as well as living standards are not important factors distinguishing drug taking persons from the rest of population. However, the quality of family relations was found to be important factor differing investigated groups. A deeper analysis of this problem seems to be necessary for preparing a well-working preventive program. Similar high values, describing relative drug spreading and accessibility were obtained in other big cities of Poland. Preventive campaigns can be negatively valued on the basis of this survey.
