N2  - The latest techniques which have been developed for the measurement of heat, smoke, and toxic gas emissions from fires are reviewed. The current objective of minimizing apparatus dependence of the data is emphasized. Forms of data and their units are outlined. Differences between data obtained in large-scale and in bench-scale tests are discussed, and areas where further research is needed are indicated.<p />
