N2  - Using the "Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" in the field is difficult in New York State because of the need to follow two voluminous documents. There is a need for a field handbook that provides information on the most commonly used signs. The "Traffic Sign Handbook" has been produced in New York State since the mid-1980s. This handbook has been updated to meet changing standards. Several figures, graphics, tables, and other components make the handbook especially valuable.<p />
