N2  - Current control room operating procedures have been found to be inadequate both in terms of the amount of information they contain and in the way the information is presented. Operators do not feel that procedures aid their performance; rather they feel that procedures are a cumbersome irritation. In the wake of Three Mile Island, much emphasis is being placed on improving the hardware systems at nuclear plants.
