TY - JOUR PY - 1982// TI - Visual/perceptual aspects of an F-4G accident JO - Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society annual meeting A1 - Kellogg, Robert S. SP - 316 EP - 318 VL - 26 IS - 4 N2 - This paper is the result of the author's participation in the investigation of an F-4G accident which occurred during a Red Flag (tactical warfare) exercise. The aircraft crashed in an area which was strongly suggestive of visual/ perceptual problems. Investigation of the crash site revealed that the terrain potential for visual/perceptual misinterpretation was clearly present. The incident is discussed in the light of low level, high speed flight.
