N2  - Three methods for wording quantity-frequency indices of alcohol consumption were compared over three time periods. Wording changes were associated with significant differences in mean scores, suggesting that comparative research results dependent on means might be reflecting measurement error rather than reality. The results of factor analysis and correlation analysis, however, supported the reliability and interchangeability of the three forms for purposes of scale construction and establishment of relationships.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
