N2  - Two independent assessments of alcoholism--clinicians' judgments and the Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test (MAST)--were in agreement only 77.0% of the time, with a Kappa value of .44. Because of its administrative efficiency and greater uniformity and objectivity, the MAST was judged as being preferable to clinicians' judgments in situations in which only one method is needed.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
