TY - JOUR PY - 1977// TI - Sudden infant death and infanticide JO - American journal of epidemiology A1 - Kukull, W. A. A1 - Peterson, D. R. SP - 485 EP - 486 VL - 106 IS - 6 N2 - The hypothesis, advanced by Asch (Mt Sinai J Med NY 35:214-220, 1968), that a majority of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) cases are actually infanticides, is addressed by examination of age comparable infant homicide rates (United States, 1950-1974) and consideration of current theory regarding SIDS pathogenesis. The analysis provides no support for the hypothesis.
