TY - JOUR PY - 1995// TI - Effects of caffeine on occupationally important functions of locomotive operators JO - Meditsina Truda i Promyshlennaia Ekologiia A1 - Zhuravleva, G. N. SP - 25 EP - 28 VL - IS - 2 N2 - The study covered effects of Caffeine on simple and integral reactions of locomotive drivers. A total of 224 individuals was polled. Caffeine appeared to stimulate significant occupational functions of the drivers in first hours and subsequently hamper them by 2nd--4th hours. Low doses (about 0.04 g) occurred notably effective. Primary paradoxical reactions were frequent. The authors presented practical recommendations on intake of Caffeine-containing drinks against the drivers' sleep at work, with consideration of doses, schedule of intake and individual response.
