N2  - A report is given of a 22-year-old woman who suffered from an external non-penetrating injury to the ventral side of the neck resulting in a rupture of the dorsal pharyngeal wall. She was successfully treated with conservative therapy, i.e. intravenous fluids and conservative therapy, i.e. intravenous fluids and antibiotics.
