N2  - The application of section 330 a StGB (German Penal Code) to chronic alcohols requires due regard to numerous aspects. These pertain not only to the manner of intoxication in connection with the 'Rauschtat' (criminal offence while under a certain degree of influence of alcohol), but also give rise to condsiderations in each individual case regarding negligence or premeditation. This paper handles in particular the problems of definition and the question of the applicability of section 20 or section 21 StGB to the 'Vollrausch' (high degree of intoxication) - in addition to its application to the 'Rauschtat'.<p />
