TY - JOUR PY - 2000// TI - Incorrect breath alcohol measurement? JO - Blutalkohol A1 - Kohler, H. A1 - Beike, Justus A1 - Abdin, L. A1 - Brinkmann, B. SP - 286 EP - 292 VL - 37 IS - 5 N2 - To study the correlation between blood alcohol concentrations and breath alcohol concentrations a mass study with 360 participants was carried out using the breath alcohol analyser ALCOTEST 7110 MK III EVIDENTIAL. The examination came up with 341 pairs of results from simultaneous breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) and venous blood alcohol concentration (BAC). 19 participants were unable to carry out the breath alcohol test. The mean BAC to BrAC ratio was 2.311(per mille)/mg 1-1. When calculating the pair differences (BAC - BrAC x 2.1(per mille)mg 1-1) a mean pair difference of 0.05 (per mille) was detected. A variation range of - 0.07 to 0.20 (per mille) had to be taken into consideration. These results raise basic doubts on the evidential value of the breath alcohol analysis.
