TY - JOUR PY - 1979// TI - Determination of alcohol concentration in organs of human corpses JO - Blutalkohol A1 - Krauland, W. A1 - Klug, E. A1 - Toffel, P SP - 290 EP - 299 VL - 16 IS - 4 N2 - The concentrations of alcohol in organs can be resorted to for assessment of inebriation if blood is no longer available. Tests were carried out on various parts of the brain, muscles, spleen, lungs, kidneys and liver. The brain and muscles would appear to be most suitable for investigations taking into account the water content at the particular time. As a rule the results obtained were below the corresponding blood alcohol concentrations. Only in exceptional cases were the results 10-20% higher, a factor which would have to be taken into account if the method is used for assessment purposes.
