TY - JOUR PY - 1978// TI - Psychiatric and neurologic sequelae of infectious mononucleosis JO - American journal of psychiatry A1 - Hendler, N. A1 - Leahy, W. SP - 842 EP - 844 VL - 135 IS - 7 N2 - Infectious mononucleosis is usually thought to be a benign disease with occasional neurologic sequelae. Depression, incoordination, a reduction in intellectual ability, and altered EEG patterns were found in two patients; one recovered and the other seemed to have permanent residual effects. The possibility of tranylcypromine as a treatment for the depression and appropriate counselling of patient and family are discussed.
