TY - JOUR PY - 1979// TI - Reaction time at low blood alcohol levels JO - Blutalkohol A1 - Lutze, J. A1 - Schacher, E SP - 49 EP - 58 VL - 16 IS - 1 N2 - This influence of low alcohol levels on reaction behavior was investigated. 40 car drivers aged 18 to 52 years were tested. The reaction recording instrument recorded a great similarity with regard to the arrangement of the accelerator and break pedals in a car and made a differentiated registration of movement and reaction time feasible. In comparison with a performance in a sober state, the average blood alcohol level of 0.49 pro mille showed a highly significant prolongation of the reaction-eliciting time and a less reliable reaction performance. These differences were also seen in the total reaction time. An influence on the reaction-completion time, however, could not be detected.
